College students tend to be rather selfish, complaining people. In fact, a large majority of their conversations consist of selfish complaining. .oO(I wonder if that is what they think conversation is) When living in the same vicinity as college students, you have the choice to be complainingly selfish or happy, excited, and selfless. Ironically, it is this happy excited selflesness that will reduce your image among college students, for they are like the people in »A Strange Manuscript Found in a Copper Cylinder and do not expect you to be any different (I.E., Saved by God's grace). Thus, since they expect you to be selfish, they like you to be complainey, because then your motives and drives are clear to them. If you live righteously, those motives are not clear to them, and it scares them. They do not consider the fact (unless over long term) that you may actually be a person of integrity, a person whose entire self is concentrated in face value.
The real world probably has this phenomenon as well, but they probably just hide it behind contracts.
